  • We are currently recruiting for multiple Machinery Asset Specialist (MAS) positions to join Signet’s Reliability team. The positions will be based in Western Canada with the opportunity for a hybrid work week with working remotely and at any of Signet or Spartan Control’s offices will be blended. The successful candidate will work directly at customer sites and support the delivery of machinery vibration analysis, condition monitoring and diagnostic services, as well as consult and implement advanced maintenance strategies to new and existing clients. You will report directly to the Lead or Manager, Rotating Equipment and Reliability Engineering.

    Role and Responsibilities

    A major focus will be on Vibration Analysis of reciprocating and rotating machinery but will also include design, implementation and support of reliability programs. These programs may include utilization of Vibration, Oil, Infrared, Ultrasonic and Motor diagnostic technologies.

    Design:

    • Technology selection/optimization for critical and essential assets

    • Plant control system and machine condition monitoring program integration

    • Support design and development of program goals and KPI’s

    • Asset assessment for reliable design

    Implementation:

    • System/program installation and commissioning

    • Technology deployment, baseline acquisition

    Support:

    • Field data capture, analysis and reporting

    • Asset and system optimization

    • Formal and informal training

    • Data Analytic Software Tools

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Strong mechanical aptitude

    • Proven customer service skills

    • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

    • Knowledge and experience with rotating & reciprocating machinery

    • Base knowledge of Network and IT systems

    • Highly motivated and innovative self-starter

    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Entrepreneurial work ethic

    • Formal Vibration, Thermography, and Tribology training or certification considered an asset.

    • Reliability product and application (vibration analysis or reciprocating compressor analysis hardware and software) understanding considered an asset.

    • Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred) or Engineering Technologist Diploma with equivalent experience or trade Certification (Heavy Duty, Automotive, Millwright) is preferred.

    This position is deemed Safety Sensitive – successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test.

    • Engineering Technologist Diploma, Trade Certification (Heavy Duty, Automotive, Millwright), or Degree in Engineering

    • Strong mechanical aptitude

    • Strong Microsoft Office skills

    • Independent learner

    • Valid driver’s licence

    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

    • Customer service experience is considered an asset

    • Base knowledge of Network and IT systems is considered an asset

    • Knowledge and experience with rotating & reciprocating machinery is considered an asset.

    • Formal Vibration, Thermography, and Tribology training or certification is considered an asset.

    • Reliability product and application (vibration analysis or reciprocating compressor analysis hardware and software) understanding is considered an asset.
