ProBalance^™ Plus

Compressor Engineering (CECO) and MMS have collaborated to enhance the ProBalance system.  The ProBalance Plus system makes keeping your slow-speed, natural gas fueled engines in balance a snap!  ProBalance Plus continuously monitors the peak firing pressures in up to 20 cylinders and automatically adjusts the electronic Fuel Gas Modulators (eFGMs) to maintain PFPs across the engine to a user definable tolerance.   The Probalance Plus system generates an alarm if the engine is unbalanced or any cylinder exceeds user-definable PFP or standard deviation. The ProBalance Plus uses CECO designed and manufactured eFGMs which are based on their standard FGMs that have been in use for years.  The eFGMs are available in several sizes from 1.5” to 2.5” NPT.  If you have manual CECO FGMs installed, they can be upgraded by simply adding the eFGM actuator!

The Machinery Monitoring Systems ProBalance system makes keeping your slow-speed, natural gas fueled engines in balance a snap!  ProBalance continuously monitors the peak firing pressures in up to 20 cylinders and generates an alarm if the engine is unbalanced or any cylinder exceeds user-definable PFP or standard deviation.  The balancing process is also a snap!  Simply take the Snapshot wireless tablet out on the engine and continuously monitor every cylinder’s PFP while adjusting the balance valves.  When the desired balance is achieved, click the “As-left” button on the tablet to generate a PDF balance report to print-out, save or email. Snapshot™ Engine Balancer

The Machinery Monitoring Systems Snapshot Engine Balancer is a portable, 2-channel analyzer for slow-speed, natural gas fueled engine balancing. The ignition clip allows the operator to first verify proper functioning ignition on all cylinders before attempting to balance an engine. The quick ignition test provides a green, yellow or red indication of ignition quality based on breakdown voltage and spark duration. These parameters are user definable on a per-engine basis. After verifying good ignition, the operator can then proceed with collecting “as-found” balance data. After making appropriate adjustments to fuel flow the operator can collect “as-left” balance data. The belt worn data acquisition module has a rechargeable battery and connectors for a pressure sensor and a secondary spark clip. The module transmits the data to the Snapshot tablet wirelessly via BluetoothTM. Pressure and ignition curves are displayed on the tablet for the operator. Engine Balance and Ignition reports are available in PDF format for saving, printing or emailing. The Snapshot Balancer utilizes a Station|Machine|Route database that makes it easy to use company-wide.
